En 2017, la finale de l’ELMS s’est déroulée sur le circuit de Portimão en Algarve, long de 4.692km, en lieu et place du circuit d’Estoril. La construction de l’Autodromo Internacional do Algarve s’est achevée en 2008, 8 mois seulement avant la première course.
En août 2009, les Le Mans Series ont visité le nouveau circuit avec les 1000km d’Algarve. Ces trois dernières saisons, le circuit de Portimão a offert aux fans, aux équipes et aux pilotes la scène parfaite pour une finale riche en rebondissements et 2020 fera en aucun cas exception.
