At the end of two hours the no22 United Autosports Oreca was topping the time sheets with Filipe Albuquerque setting a 1m43.175, just 0.014s slower than his best time in FP1. The no21 Dragonspeed Oreca was second quickest once again with Ben Hanley setting a 1m43.365 and the no26 G-Drive Racing Aurus of Jean-Eric Vergne was third 0.131s behind the Dragonspeed.
In LMP3 the no11 Eurointernational Ligier was quickest with Mikkel Mac posting a 1m54.611 lap of the 3.6-mile Silverstone track, six tenth behind the best time set in FP1. The Dane was 0.6 seconds ahead of the no19 M Racing Norma of Yann Ehrlacher and 0.7 seconds ahead of the no6 360 Racing Ligier.
The LMGTE field was led by the no88 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR with a 1m57.080 lap set by Thomas Preining, 1.6 seconds faster than the best time in Free Practice 1. The Porsche was nearly seven tenths ahead of the no77 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche of Matteo Cairoli, with the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari ending the session third quickest in LMGTE with a 1m58.079, 0.999s behind the lead Porsche.
The next time the ELMS cars will be on track will be for qualifying, starting with LMGTE at 10h55 on Saturday 31 August.
