ELMS - 13/07/2017 - Sophie LIGER
Ultimate is a family story with the n°17 Ligier JSP3 driven by brothers Matthieu and Jean-Baptiste Lahaye, who are joined by fellow Frenchman Francois Heriau. This is the second season for the team in ELMS and in LMP3. Matthieu is not only a driver but he is also the team manager and the founder of the Brittany based team.
In 2013, after being an Oak Racing driver in ELMS and FIA World Endurance Championship, Matthieu Lahaye founded the Ultimate team. They started with a few seasons in VdeV before moving up to the European Le Mans Series in 2016, taking on the challenge of the Le Mans Prototype category.
Their first season was learning year for the team as they ran a brand new car in a new championship. 2017 started very well, with two podium finishes, but the team does not intend to stop there and will be aiming for that first LMP3 win at the Red Bull Ring next week.

Ultimate will have to face fierce competition in the very competitive LMP3 field. M.Racing-YMR are currently second in LMP3 with 18 points and reigning ELMS LMP3 team champions United Autosports (Mark Patterson, Wayne Boyd, Christian England), are third. Both will fight hard to take the lead of the championship at half way point of the 2017 ELMS season.
