Track Action Begins at Paul Ricard

Blue skies and warm sunshine greeted the 37 cars and 103 drivers taking part in round 4 of the 2014 European Le Mans Series at the Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France. 
The first Free Practice session of the day saw the no36 Signatech Alpine take the fastest lap, with Nelson Panciatici setting a time of 1m50.117, 0.203s faster than the no46 Thiriet by TDS Racing Ligier, with Ludovic Badey being the fastest of the three drivers.  In LMP2 the top six cars were split by less than 0.9 seconds at the end of the 90 minute session.

In LMGTE it was the two times race winning no55 AF Corse Ferrari which set the pace, with Matt Griffin posting a 1m57.323 lap, 0.222s ahead of the no72 SMP Racing Ferrari and 0.372s ahead of the Gulf Racing UK Aston Martin Vantage V8.

In GTC it was  1-2-3 for SMP Racing at the top of the time sheets with the no71 Ferrari 458 of Luca Persiani posting a 1m59.140 lap on the 5.791km Paul Ricard circuit, 0.259s ahead of the nr57 Ferrari of Mika Salo and 0.788s ahead of the Russian team's no73 458.
