This weekend, the fourth round of the ELMS will take place at the Hungaroring circuit, situated some twenty kilometres from the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The European Le Mans Series teams are all on their way and the week promises to be exciting and lively with plenty of entertainment and racing from a wide range of disciplines.
From Thursday 12th September ELMS teams and drivers will meet up in the paddock with the technical and administrative scrutineers to finalise the details for their participation in the event which will take place once again alongside the World Series by Renault .
The following day, Friday 13th September will be the first time the 26 ELMS cars will be seen on the slow and twisty track, nicknamed the ' Magyar tourniquet ' by many drivers. The first hour of free practice starts at 11:00 hours.
The second free practice session of the ELMS weekend will be held between 15:40-16:40 hours, after which the track will be used for the Europcup Megane Trophy cars and the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup single-seaters for the latter's qualifying session.
While Saturday 14th September starts early at 08:25 hours for Megane and Formula Renault 3.5 qualifying, the eight LMGTE and six GTC cars of the European Le Mans Series will take to the track at 09:35h for a 20 minute qualifying session. It will be followed by 20 minutes of qualifying for the nine LMP2 prototypes and three LMPC cars. Qualifying ends at 10:25h.
Don't miss the autograph session between 10:35 and 11:05 hours during which drivers will be pleased to welcome you to the ELMS paddock.
The first WSR 3.5 race will take place between 14:19 and 15:06 hours.
Finally, beginning at 15:30h, the ELMS organization will gear up for the 3 Hours of Hungaroring, with access to the starting grid from 15:40 – 15:55h and the green flag for the start being shown at 16:01 hours. Throughout the two days of action, there will be plenty of entertainment to delight both young and old. Amongst them will be exhibition cars, track displays put on by Renault Sport with, notably, an F1 car plus shows organised around the French marque's historic vehicles. Look, too, to the skies where the Total Air Show is bound to surprise many!
See you in Hungary on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September for the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series, the penultimate round of the 2013 season.
