LM P3 - 11/03/2015

Spanish racing team SVK by Speed Factory has confirmed the drivers’ line up for their debut in prestigious European Le Mans Series. Pilots from Latvia, Lithuania and Spain will become key figures in securing team’s future position for the Le Mans 24 hours race.

“We are anchiously waiting for this historical start – it means a lot to our team. Taking part in Europe‘s most famous long distance race is a big honour, yet a bigger challenge. Even before the start of the season, I am already impressed with the work ACO and ELMS organisation group is doing. We will have to catch up with a lot of new things, that goes not only for me, but for the pilots and the crew as well,” explains Dalius Steponavicius, the team manager.

According to Dalius, this year SVK by Speed Factory will feature a real variaty of international pilots. “It should make a great cocktail,” Dalius says. A person, responsable for team‘s energy and reach for maximum results is Konstantin Calko – a latvian, running his fourth year with Speed Factory Racing team and a man that helped to win Radical European Masters championship in 2012. Stability will be taken care of by another longtimer - J. Fuster from Spain.

The third pilot, Dainius Matijosaitis from Lithuania declares to be a good example of hard work. SVK by Speed Factory hopes, that the newcomer will show good progress and make only positive surprises. Dalius himself is very happy to see a fellow lithuanian opening a new chapter in his beloved countries motorsports history, with Dainius being the first person ever to drive in ELMS.

“We are also very happy with the work Ginetta factory is doing. They are working day and night, so I am possitive, that the new LMP3 Ginetta-Nissan will be as fast, as it will be reliable. This will soon be confirmed in the end of March, with the official ELMS testing on Le Castellet track in France,” says D. Steponavicius.

“No secret, our main goal is the Le Mans 24 hours race. This year we will do our best to gain as much experience and knowledge as possible, rather yet, we are still feeling very competitive and showing our opponents what we are made of from the first race is also a thing that we are reaching for. To add, we are very thankful to our partners and sponsors for this possibility to step to new level.”

Radical European Masters Series has been the main focus for a six year old Speed Factory Racing team established by Dalius Steponavicius in Spain – the hard work payed of with victories in 2008, 2009 and 2012, followed by 2013 and 2014 vice-champion titles.
