So24! by Lombard Racing Le Mans Test Day

Here we are! The 24 Hours Le Mans Test day is over and Team So24! by Lombard Racing has fulfilled its first mission.

In fact, today was the day where Jonathan Coleman had to complete the ten mandatory track laps for any driver who has never raced at Le Mans, in order to be qualified.

He ticked this box, after having also done his mandatory ACO simulator test, ten days ago.

British driver along with the new comer Erik Maris and Le Mans native Vincent Capillaire worked today mainly on the car’s set up looking toward the coming famous “Le Mans Week” which will start as soon as Sunday June 12th with technical and administrative checks to take place in the center of Le Mans.

In both of today’s test sessions (from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm second session was shortened for rail repairs, with a red flag after an accident), #22 Ligier JS P2 So24! By Lombard Racing completed 52 laps, and finished the day 32nd on the overall classification sheet, with a lap in 3:45.587 set by Vincent Capillaire this afternoon.

“We have two Bronze drivers in our car and Jonathan has never raced at Le Mans 24 Hours” said Team Principal Jean Lombard. “It was very important for the three drivers to understand the car on this track, so we mostly worked on adaptation and car settings and did not look for pure performance. In addition, Erik Maris who joined only very recently had to get used to the car. Even if he has raced Le Mans before, he did not know the Ligier-Judd combination.
