Q: Can you sum up your season so far?
The season so far has been pretty good. We’ve had two wins and we’re leading the championship going into the penultimate round at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and I wasn’t expecting that much from my first season in the European Le Mans Series. I know everybody within RLR MSport is working very hard, but the competition is strong. It’s a good feeling to be right up there.
Q: The championship is very tight, what do you think of the competition this season?
The competition in the 2018 European Le Mans Series is incredibly strong. There are some really good driver line-ups in high-level teams, so it’s a very tough year in which to be competitive. To win, you can’t make any mistakes and that’s what we’ve managed until now.
Q: What are your thoughts about the track at Spa-Francorchamps?
The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is technically my home race, it’s a very special place and I’ve always enjoyed racing there. I was last there in 2015 in Formula 4, and I found that Spa is an interesting circuit that promotes a lot of overtaking. Of course, Spa also has the most famous corner in the world, Eau Rouge, and everybody loves it.
Q: What will be your main goal for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps?
The 4 Hours of Spa; I want to win it. We will have to see where we stand during the weekend itself, but I want to be the quickest out there and help the team reach a level where we have a good chance of podium results in both the ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup.
