Interview with Aaron Scott (Ferrari F488 n°55 - Spirit of Race)

ELMS - 09/10/2017 - Sophie LIGER

Aaron Scott, driver of the n°55 Spirit of race Ferrari F488 is now third of the provisional classification in the LMGTE class. After three podiums in a row (2 wins and one third place) he and his teammates (Matt Griffin and Duncan Cameron) will aim to end the season on a high note on the 22nd of October in Portimão for the final of the 2017 ELMS season.

Q: Can you tell us the high and low points of your season?

The high point was our win in Paul Ricard, we were really strong as a team for this race. Our engineer also gave us a really good car so I particularly enjoyed driving the car and to cap it all off we got a win on Duncan’s (Cameron) birthday weekend so that was great!

The low point was the non-finish we had in Monza as it would have been good to have had a strong result in Italy driving a Ferrari!

Q: With 76 points you are third of the very competitive LMGTE class, how will you approach the final race at Portimão?

Matt (Griffin) is going to get pole position and we have to win the race, that’s our approach, we have nothing to lose.

Q: The LMGTE class is very tight this season, what do you think of your rivals?

It’s such a strong Championship and I really enjoy the racing. Although it’s only 6 or 7 cars any team can win and there is no margin for error. I wouldn’t under estimate any of our rivals but on saying that we are a good team so we have every reason to feel confident.

Q: What are your thoughts about the track at Portimão?

I have only raced at Portimão once before, in Historic so it’s not a track I know well. On saying that both of my team mates, Duncan and Matt know the track well and so I can rely on their experience to get up to speed. I’m really looking forward to the race.
