Rebellion Racing dominates the third free practice session

ELMS - 02/04/2011

With just a few hours to go to qualifying for the Le Castellet 6 Hours, the third and final free practice session gave a better idea of the overall hierarchy, even if the full potential of the contenders will not really be unveiled until qualifying, and the race itself. Rebellion Racing, however, has already laid down a marker.

The Swiss team continued to dominate in LM P1. Neel Jani in the no. 12 Lola-Toyota set the quickest time in 1m 46.810s. Rebellion Racing, though, remains cautious. “We don't really know in what setup the other teams are running,” explained Nicolas Prost, Jani's team-mate. “But the car's already much easier to drive today. We've found a better balance that's helped dial out the oversteer.”

In LM P2, TDS Racing confirmed its victory hopes with the best lap in 1m 49.206s with its Oreca 03-Nissan. Genoa Racing topped the time sheets in Formula Le Mans in 1m 53.453s. In LM GTE Pro, the fastest time fell to the no. 66 Young Driver AMR Aston Martin Vantage in 1m 58.262s. IN GTE Am, the honours went to the no. 67 IMSA Matmut Performance Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with a lap in 1m 59.073s.

Qualifying will start at 13h45.
