Questions & Answers to Natacha Gachnang - Morand Racing, Morgan-Judd n°43 - LMP2
1) After the Red Bull Ring race what did you do to stay in shape during the summer break?
I kept a balanced diet and continued to train.
2) We are going to two internationally renowned circuits before the end of the season: F1's Hungaroring and the Paul Ricard circuit, a track known to be a reference in terms of safety in motorsport. Have you ever driven at these circuits and what can you tell us about them?
I've had the opportunity to run at Paul Ricard in testing and at a race, driving a Ford GT40; the circuit is fast and fairly flat so the right places to overtake and so on are difficult to evaluate.
However I've never been to the Hungaroring, but the circuit seems to be highly technical with many sequences. To learn it I have driven it on computer games and simulators because the practice sessions are short and you'll have to be quick straight away.
3) We have two races left before the end of the 2013 ELMS season. How do you see the near future and what are your expectations?
As a driver my goal remains the same: to give the best of myself and to regret nothing. The team's goal is to bring together all our experience and expertise in order to get the best result. We have proved so far that our work is paying off with two third places.
After that our goals are to climb even higher on the podium, a task that won't be easy given the high level of competition from the other entrants, but the whole team is focused and motivated to achieve our goals.4) After three rounds with more entrants, a busier timetable, more drivers, what do you think of the new ELMS format?
I think it is interesting for everybody, as much for the team participants as for the drivers. There's good opportunity for sponsors to see us or for us to interest sponsors. And that's what allows us to continue racing and to move forward.
