Qualifying: Simon Pagenaud bags pole for Peugeot

ELMS - 10/09/2011

Simon Pagenaud set pole for the Autosport 6 Hours of Silverstone in 1m 43.924s. It was the Frenchman's first time out on the English circuit in the no.7 Peugeot 908 he shares with Sébastien Bourdais. In fact, he was called in at the last minute to replace the injured Anthony Davidson who was unable to drive in front of his home public.

Pagenaud had a short, sharp battle with Stéphane Sarrazin (no. 8 Peugeot 908, 1m 45.102s) and Allan McNish (no. 2 Audi R18 TDI, 1m 44.856s) before clinching pole for the Autosport 6 Hours of Silverstone.

In LM P2, Danny Watts (Strakka Racing) took pole in 1m 49.619s after Jody Firth (TDS Racing) and Tom Kimber-Smith (Greaves Motorsport) set the early pace. In Formula Le Mans, Phil Keen (Neil Garner Motorsport) was quickest with a lap in 1m 58.143s.
