"Le Mans is a very special race..." so says Ludovic Badey

LM P2 - 10/06/2015

Driving the n°46 ORECA05 of Thiriet by TDS Racing, which he shares with Pierre Thiriet and Tristan Gommendy, Ludovic Badey is confident of a good finish during this weekend's race at the wheel of the winning car in Italy (ELMS 4 Hours of Imola).

One year on from a podium finish, how are you approaching this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans?
You could say we are a little calmer, because the experience we gained last year will be helpful for us this year, but on the other hand we want to do at least as well and if possible better than last year and that makes it a bit stressful.  "Do better" would mean winning the race in our class, and we know that the fight will be tough.  It’s a big challenge, but we have what it takes to get there. However, we know that Le Mans is a special race and with the best will in the world we could still experience problems which come out of nowhere.  So yes, we are motivated to be sure, and cautious too. Just to go back for the second consecutive year with the same crew and the same technical team is a considerable plus. We know our strengths and weaknesses, and we will do what it takes to succeed in 2015.

What has really changed between 2014 and 2015?
The biggest change is obviously the car. Last year we were learning about the Ligier JS P2 at Le Mans, and it was really tough.  This year we are learning about the ORECA 05 but we have already done two races with it including victory at the ELMS 4 Hours of Imola less than a month ago. The win in Imola corroborated the huge amount of preparation work we did with the ORECA 05 so all we need, therefore, is not to make any mistakes and not have any mechanical problems.
