Paul Ricard revisited for the Inter Europol Competition team

This weekend (25-27 August) the Inter Europol Competition team will join the European Le Mans Series for the fourth round of the season at Paul Ricard. It will be the second time this year the team will be racing in the south of France. The first time was in June with the VdeV. With the knowledge gained then, the team targets a better result then fifth on the Red Bull Ring. The team is now in seventh place in the championship.

Martin Hippe: “Paul Ricard… Finally a racetrack I’ve raced on before, after three new racetracks for me in a row. I am happy to drive the layout with the chicane on the fast straight which is the same as last year in the VdeV. After our solid 5th place at Red Bull Ring, we hopefully can reach our target to score a podium this year in the ELMS. For sure it will be a very hot weekend, but our very good pace in the races should help us.“

Kuba Smiechowski: “I kind of like Paul Ricard. It has a medium speed first sector, very fast second and a technical third sector. Because of the huge run off area you can risk a little more than on other circuits without any real danger. It can get really hot there this time of the year so not only it will be a hard race in itself but also the weather can add something more to the mix.”
