What the Drivers’ Say....Roberto Lacorte

ELMS - 12/05/2017 - Jeff CARTER

Roberto Lacorte is part of the only all Italian team on the ELMS grid for the 2017 4 Hours of Monza. Driving the no47 Cetilar Vilorba Corse Dallara P217-Gibson alongside Giogio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi, Lacorte finished 6th in the opening round at Silverstone on the team’s LMP2 debut last month and now races at home in front of the Italian fans.

“We were very happy with our performance on our LMP2 debut at Silverstone.  It was a very difficult race because we started from the back of the grid but we took a lot of information for the rest of the season.  I am very happy about the car and about the team and we want to have a normal race this weekend to demonstrate to everybody what we can do.

“For us as an Italian team it is very important for the ELMS to race here at Monza, it creates a lot of emotions around this race because we represent Italy; an all Italian team.  We are waiting for our fans to join us here in Monza.  This is our home race but also the race before Le Mans, so this is the main event of the season and we want to prepare for Le Mans in the best possible way, and that way is to race here in Monza.  So we are very happy to be here.”
