The Silverstone circuit is known as a man's circuit because it is verydemanding on the drivers. Indeed, the track is famous for its highspeedlayout, particularly the first half of the lap, as the drivers do nottouch the brakes at all. Its high-speed nature means the Britishcircuit is tough for tires and engines as well.Moreover, the rain and the wind are constant concerns and nomatter what the season, they are permanent threats at Silverstone.But we have been lucky so far and hopefully, the race will be dry.Nicolas Lapierre and his Oreca-Matmut AIM avoided the traps todayand have clinched the overall pole for the second time of the seasonwith a one-second gap.
