Nigel Mansell won't take part the race

ELMS - 10/09/2010

This week-end, the Beechdean Mansell team will have to forget Nigel Mansell as a driver. The British champion does not hide his disappointment: "It's a great shame but I'm not going to be driving this weekend. I will instead be doing the same job as team manager as I did in Hungary. I have heard from the doctor that I can't be signed off following my crash at Le Mans. I was hoping to just do three laps to qualify for the race and then do the final stint of the race, but I am not even allowed do that.” Despite his absence on the track, the F1 World champion will be very present in the pit to support his children. The team is very keen to repeat their Hungarian achievement. Nigel considers this possibility with a lot of pride. «The great thing about the Le Mans Series is that you can plug drivers in and out of the cars and Greg and Leo did a magnificent juob last time out to win their class. I was a very proud Dad when they won and we feel, as a team, we got the monkey off our backs.» The Mansell family will be very eager not to disappoint their public!
