ELMS - 07/05/2011
Nicolas Armindo, 2010 German Porsche Carrera Cup Champion, who has set 2 pole positions in LM GTE Am since the start of the Le Mans Series season, has made a big impact on the endurance scene. While his aim is to have the best possible car for the race, he is very pleased with his qualifying record.
He set pole in LM GTE Am in the Le Castellet 6 Hours, and in the no. 76 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche 997 GT3 RSR he did the same in qualifying for the Spa-Francorchamps 1000 kms.
“Seeing that I set the quickest time is a source of satisfaction,” smiles the driver from Alsace, a hotbed of talent! “With our level of performance we can take the fight to the LM GTE Pro cars. Maybe they're just a bit quicker but we're not that far behind. We'll continue working to close the gap even further.”
The most important thing for Armindo is to confirm his performance in the race. “I hope that Raymond (Narac) and I have the best car setup possible, the most neutral to have the same feeling. We're working together to optimize the Porsche to be quick in qualifying, but above all in the race.”
The weekend has got off to a great start for the IMSA drivers who hope to score a good result after their disappointment at Le Castellet, when an accident at the start dashed their hopes of a good finish. “We were the second-fastest car in LM GTE and we were quicker than several GTEs, including several Pros.”
After his title in the German Porsche Carrera Cup, Armindo has shown his talent in GTE Am. The Frenchman, though, has set his sights higher: “It's already a step and I hope to move up in the future. That's why I'm trying to do the best job possible so that my performances will make people sit up and take notice.”> 10 days to go before Le Castellet - Le 09/07/2020 à 11:00
