New challenges for Thiriet by TDS Racing

This season, the Team Thiriet by TDS Racing really wants to go on its involvement in Endurance through the prototype category! For that reason, and thanks to its results in LMP2 class last year (European Le Mans Series 2012 champion in both drivers and teams championships), the team has decided to compete in this very tough series. Always powered by the Nissan engine, the Oreca 03 will be entered for the whole ELMS season (first race at Silverstone, England, on April 13th). Regarding the drivers, nothing is still settled on but one thing is certain: Pierre Thiriet, whose progress is lightning, will be ready to raise to this new challenge.  Also in prototype category and further to its very good result in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2012 (2nd in LMP2 category with the line up Beche / Thiriet / Tinseau), the team will honour the place offered for the next race by the organizers. Obviously, the team will do everything it can to be on the podium of the most important long-distance race of the world again (in June 22nd and 23rd)!

Xavier Combet, team manager: «First of all, the whole team and myself wish a Happy New Year 2013 to all our partners, the organizers of championships, the members of the press, the supporters of Thiriet by TDS Racing as well as all the fans of motor racing!  I take the opportunity of these wishes to announce the programs of our team which will be centred around the European Le Mans Series, the GT Tour, the Blancpain Endurance Series and, obviously, the 24 Hours of Le Mans ! Regarding the prototypes category, further to our results in ELMS last year, we were motivated to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Unfortunately, all the parameters were not gathered. That is why the team has decided to put back in play its ELMS champion titles. At that occasion, we shall have the number 1 on the side of the car and we are ready to fight in order to defend our two titles.  We are also very proud not to have to wait for the decision of the Selection Committee to be able to compete in the next 24 Hours of Le Mans race.  The big novelty of this new season will be our commitment in a quite new category, the GT. We are really determined and delighted to participate in these two very tough championships! We shall enter a BMW Z4 in Blancpain Endurance Series and in GT Tour.
