MurphysMen make their mark at Le Mans test

ELMS - 02/06/2014

Team Info

Le Mans, France – Sunday 1st June 2014: Murphy Prototypes have got their 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans off to a good start at today's official test.

The Team ran its complete driver line up of Karun Chandhok, Nathanaël Berthon and Rodolfo Gonzalez throughout the day as well as their official reserve driver, Alex Kapadia. With all four drivers qualifying to participate in the event early in the day, the team was able to move forward with planning their strategy for this years event.

Throughout the day the team showed a very strong pace in each stint, but it was Karun Chandhok who set the fastest time in the late afternoon to lead the LMP2 class. Murphy Prototypes looked set to retain their advantage until the final stages of the session where Karun's time was just beaten.

Greg Murphy, Owner, Murphy Prototypes: “Today has gone really well for us. All four drivers set a very good pace throughout the day and Karun's time in the afternoon put us in the LMP2 lead for a couple of hours. Our Oreca 03R Nissan looks in really good shape so I'm really looking forward to the real action getting underway in over a weeks time.”
