Without Audi cars, whose times both remained the best, the session resumes at 9:00 AM. Weather conditions are once again excellent (16°C at 9:00 AM, over 20°C at 1:00 PM under a clear blue sky). The only car running this night, the Courage-Oreca n°6, had to stays in his box for three hours due to a mechanical problem, spoiling their 24H live simulation.
Almost every cars improved their best lap, but it also causes many spins, including the unavoidable Porsche RS Spyder n°34, the Lolas n°12 and 19 and the Corvette n°72.
At 11:27 AM, the Lola n°40 stopped with the start of a small fire quickly extinguished, but causing the safety car to come on the track until 11:34.
At 12:18 PM, the Porsche RS Spyder n°34, after another spin, returned to pits at reduced speed.
At 12:45 PM, the Porsche RS Spyder n°31 came back to pits at snail's pace with a flat tyre.
At 1:00 PM, end of the session, and beginning of the first press conference of the Le Mans Series 2008.
