ELMS - 16/05/2013
TeamRelease
Some four weeks ago the MOMO-Megatron DF1 Team finished the first race in the ELMS (European Le Mans Series), held on the English Silverstone circuit, in a successful third place in the GTC class.
This coming weekend the second ELMS meeting is on the agenda, to be held on the Italian Imola circuit, and the MOMO Megatron DF1 team is once again eagerly looking forward to clinching a podium and even victory in the GTC class.
With the Audi R8 LMS the young team comprised out of Dylan Derdaele (B), Kuba Giermaziak (PL) and Raffi Bader (CH) are fully determined to put in a fast and tactical race.
“A great deal can happen during a three hour long race”, Kuba Giermaziak commented, who last weekend had performed brilliantly in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup during the F1 weekend in Barcelona, in which just before the finish he was still lying in 2nd place prior to finally taking the chequered flag in fourth spot.
Dylan Derdaele was also exceptionally successful last weekend. During the second round of the BRCC in Dijon he won the GT Cup class teamed up with his German teammate Kenneth Heyer and the Belgian Monegasque Chris Mattheus and with the Belgium Racing MOMO Megatron Porsche 997 finished in fifth place overall after a three hour endurance race.
“Hopefully it will remain dry in Imola, as compared to the Silverstone race where the rain bucketed down obliging the race to be flagged off prematurely. I'm looking forward to Italy”, the highly talented Limburg based driver remarked.
This last week the Swiss Raffi Bader has also been intensively preparing for the tough race in Imola. “I didn't spend much time behind the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS in Silverstone as the race finished behind the Safety Car. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to go full out this time under better conditions.”
