In the "LM"P2 class, the MG Lola driven by Erdos-Newton aims for a second title in a row challenged by three Porsche RS Spyders: one entered by Horag Racing from Switzerland (Lienhard-Theys- Lammers), one by Van Merksteijn Motorsport from the Netherlands (Van Merksteijn-Verstappen-Bleekemolen), and one by Team Essex from Denmark (Nielsen-Elgaard). However, outsiders are also numerous, as every contender of this class has a chance to win.
