ELMS - 04/06/2017 - Sophie LIGER
You are leading the ELMS championship; can you tell us about the start of your season?
“First of all, I’m very happy and very excited about the way the season begins, two podium finishes, a win and a second place. A great way to start a season. It’s a long way to go so this means nothing for the championship but it’s obviously good momentum and I hope we can keep the good work on.”
What will be your main focus for today’s test day?
“You know even though it’s not part of the championship Le Mans is very important for us and we want to win it. Today we will try to find a good pace, good speed make sure the car is good and reliable. We will also try to have as much as possible track time for me, Ryo (Hirakawa) and also for our new teammate for this race Jose (Gutierrez) who is joining us for Le Mans. We will make sure that he learns the track quickly and work as a team because I think team effort wins this kind of races.”
What advice will you give to Jose (Gutierez), who is a Rookie in Le Mans?
“I have done Le Mans once and this is one of those races where you learn a lot. We were already discussing about all the things we discovered previously. Ryo has done the race, I have done the race but we also have a lot of people in the team that have a lot of knowledge like Nicolas Minassian our sporting director and he knows Le Mans like the palm of his hands. We are going to try to learn everything to be as strong as possible.”
