Matthieu Lahaye under observation

ELMS - 07/05/2011

Mathieu Lahaye, who was the victim of a high-speed accident in qualifying for the Spa-Francorchamps 1000 kms, is still under observation. The OAK Racing driver was badly shocked in the crash and was taken to hospital for examinations.

The first observations are reassuring even if the doctors have not yet given their final verdict. OAK Racing will comment on Lahaye's state of health when the medical check-up has been published.

“I'd like to send my warmest wishes to Matthieu after his accident yesterday,” said Pierre Ragues, Lahaye's and Guillaume Moreau's team-mate in the no. 15 OAK Pescarolo-Judd, which has been withdrawn from the race. “Thankfully, his condition does not appear to be as bad as it could have been after such a crash but we wish him a quick recovery and look forward to welcoming him back in the team as soon as possible.”
