LMGTE and GTC Titles Still to be Won in Portugal!

ELMS - 18/10/2014

While the permutations for the championship positions for the LMP2 title are wide and varied, the LMGTE and GTC titles are a little clearer.  However the only thing that is certain is the 2014 title winners in both classes will be racing a Ferrari.

In LMGTE Duncan Cameron, 2013 LMGTE Champion Matt Griffin and Michele Rugolo in the nr55 AF Corse Ferrari have won three of the four races held so far this year, but only Griffin and Cameron can win the LMGTE Driver's crown after Rugolo missed his home race in Italy, giving him 6 points less than his British and Irish teammates.  Currently on 81 points, they hold a 21 point advantage over their nearest rivals Andrea Bertolini, Sergey Zlobin and Viktor Shaitar in the SMP Racing Ferrari 458.  The nr55 AF Corse Ferrari has to finish 7th or better to secure the 2014 LMGTE title.

In the GTC class the no73 SMP Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Anton Ladygin, David Markozov and Olivier Beretta have taken three second places and a win last time out in Paul Ricard from the four races run so far in 2014 and hold an 18.5 point advantage over their nearest rivals in the no60 Formula Racing Ferrari of Johnny Laursen and Mikkel Mac, their fellow Dane, Jan Magnusson, unable to win the Drivers title after missing the race in Imola.  The no73 Ferrari only has to finish 6th or better to secure the Driver and Team's title on Sunday Afternoon.

The 4 Hours of Estoril will take place on Sunday 19 October in Portugal and is the final race of the 2014 European Le Mans Series.  Track action begins on Saturday 18 October with two 90 minute Free Practice sessions.  Qualifying will take place at 09:30 (local)/ 10:30 CET on Sunday morning, with the 4 hour race starting at 13:30 (local) / 14:30 CET.
