ELMS Contenders Get Ready for Le Mans

The top ELMS car in LMP2 was the no40 Graff Oreca 07-Gibson which finished 9^th in class with Richard Bradley setting a time of 3m30.525, 2.3 seconds behind the fastest of the LMP2 runners, the no35 Signatech Alpine A470-Gibson of 2013 ELMS Champion Nelson Panciatici.  

The next ELMS team in the final classification was the no21 Dragonspeed Oreca of Ben Hanley, his time of 3m30.693 was good enough for 12^th in class and was 0.457s ahead of the current championship leader Ryo Hirakawa in the no22 G-Drive Racing Oreca, with the no32 United Autosports Ligier three tenths further back in 14^th place in the LMP2 class.

In LMGTE Am the fastest ELMS runner was the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari F488 with Marco Cioci setting a 3m58.804 lap of the 13.6km La Sarthe circuit which was good enough for 5^th in class, 0.5 seconds behind Pedro Lamy in the leading no98 Aston Martin Vantage. 

The no99 Beachdean AMR Vantage of Ross Gunn was 6^th in class with the young English driver setting a time just 0.081s behind Cioci and 0.2 seconds ahead of the no90 TF Sport Aston Martin of Euan Hankey.

The teams will now gather in Le Mans in one week’s time in the Place de la République for le Pesage on Sunday 11 June, which kicks off a week of motor sport celebrations, culminating in the start of 85^th edition of the 24 Heures du Mans at 15h00 on Saturday 17 June.
