Russian prototype BR01 completes over 6000 km at Paul Ricard circuit endurance test

Russian BR Engineering’s BR01 LMP2 prototype gets successful 24 hours race simulation at Paul Ricard Circuit last week. The prototype run more than 6 000 kms without any technical problems.

BR01 have run in full race specs and showed stability pace and high-level of reliability. The fastest time was set in the final segment by SMP Racing’s Anton Ladygin, who driven the car in qualifying mode. There were no any technical issues during the testing.

 

‘We tested the car in different modes and it’s looking great! Our drivers’ responses is exceptionally good. Obviously this car has a great potential, so we will fight for the highest place on the podium spots this year’, - said FIA WEC LMP2 world champion, SMP Racing sporting director Sergey Zlobin


SMP Racing drivers Maurizio Mediani, Nicolas Minassian, Kirill Ladygin, Anton Ladygin, Mikhail Aleshin and Sergey Zlobin drove the BR01 prototype during this testing.

 
BR01 prototype was introduced at the Paul Ricard Circuit in March. This testing was another regular testing before it’s debut in official races. First BR01 prototype race will be 4 Hours of Imola, which will be held on 17th of May in Italy. After that, the BR01 will compete in the famous 24 Heures du Mans race in June.

 
SMP Racing will field two BR01 prototypes in the 2015 European Le Mans Series and the 24 Heures du Mans race later this year. Maurizio Mediani, Nicolas Minassian and David Markozov will drive #27 SMP Racing entrant, Mikhail Aleshin, Anton Ladygin and Kirill Ladygin will gets the #37 SMP Racing car.
