ELMS - 29/07/2011
The serious business started this Thursday, July 28th, unfortunately with constant rain.
Thus, the competitors set off for the qualifying sessions of the 63rd edition of the 24 Hours of Spa on a wet track.
There are a great many contenders for the victory. Who of Audi, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW.... will be on the highest step of the podium Sunday?
Finally BMW takes the pole position in the final seconds Thursday night, just before the Le Mans Series team: Prospeed Competition with the Porsche 997 GT3 R driven by Marc Goossens, Jan Heylen and Maxime Soulet.
At the 6th place, Nicolas De Crem on his Porsche 997 GT3 R, also of the Prospeed Competition Team, with teammates Paul Van Splunteren, Bryce Miller and Ludovic Sougnez.
As for the Sofrev Team, managed by Jerome Policand; Olivier Pla and Julien Jousse supported by Patrice Goueslard will have to settle for the 22nd overall place. "We did not look for performance but we worked on the best adjustments for the race on Saturday."
Indeed 24 hours are long. Anything can still happen. Verdict Sunday, July 31st .... 24 hours later!
