ELMS - 07/06/2017 - Sophie LIGER
Three ELMS cars set the fastest speeds overall through the speed trap, including all of the LMP1 factory teams. The three cars were also all Gibson powered Dallara P217.
The top speed was reached by the n°47 Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara of Roberto Lacorte with a maximum speed of 341.3km/h, 5.3km/h quicker than last year’s top speed (Rebellion R-One AER n°12). The second quickest car was the n°29 Dallara of Racing Team Nederland driven by former Formula 1 star Rubens Barichello with a speed of 340.2km/h. Finally, the Dallara n°27 of SMP Racing that made his first appearance this weekend, posted a top speed of 339.1 km/h (Sergey Sirotkin).
These speeds demonstrate very well the performance of the new Gibson engine which is encouraging for the Le Mans race and the rest of the ELMS season.

Thanks to the good weather all the 17 ELMS cars could go out and covered 842 laps during the test day. They are now all ready for the scrutineering that will start on Sunday 11th of June in the Place de la République in the city centre of Le Mans.
