ELMS - 09/01/2018 - Jeff CARTER
On Monday 9 April the official Pre Season Test will mark the start of the new season, with the teams and drivers gathering for two days of rigourous testing at the French circuit after the long winter break. The official test also returns to the Circuit Paul Ricard after an absence of one year as Monza was the host in 2017.
In a change from previous years the opening round of the 2018 ELMS will also take place at the same venue just five days later with the 4 Hours of Le Castellet on Sunday 15 April, giving fans the opportunity to witness a week long festival of endurance.
The ELMS Official Test is preceded by the FIA World Endurance Championship Prologue taking place on 6/7 April, and is followed by the one day test for the Michelin Le Mans Cup on Wednesday 11 April.
The 2018 European Le Mans Series will once again feature six rounds on six iconic European circuits. The only change from 2017 is the race at Le Castellet swaps with Silverstone, with the French race moving from round 4 to the opening round and Silverstone now taking place on 18 August.
The other four venues remain the same with Monza in May (13 May), Red Bull Ring in July (22 July), Spa-Francorchamps in September (23 September) and Portimão hosting the season finale in October (28 October).
