Léo Roussel is the youngest driver on the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours starting grid

LM P2 - 09/06/2015

The Pegasus Racing Team Total, a 2015 European Le Mans Series competitor, will take the start of the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans with a much more suitable level of preparation than last year. The team came away from the test day on May 31 with a very positive outcome, and has put together a crack line up to tackle Le Mans. At pre-race scrutineering we met Leo Roussel, the youngest of the Franco-Chinese trio, and also the youngest driver on the grid for the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Born on August 31, 1995, Léo Roussel will celebrate his 20th birthday in two and a half months’ time, but he hopes to be celebrating more than that…

You are here at Scrutineering and therefore at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second consecutive year. How are you doing?
Words don’t do justice to this race... in Formula 1, there is the Monaco Grand Prix and in endurance racing there is the 24 Hours of Le Mans! I have been coming here since I was four years old, I saw my uncle compete and win here, so it's always been a dream to be a part of the race myself one day. I did it last year, but we were not really well prepared and this year it's a different story.

You are the youngest driver on the grid ...
Last year I was the youngest French driver in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year I am the youngest, full stop! So I already hold a record here, but I'm planning to get others.

Your line up...
Together with Ho-Pin and David we are a good team.  Ho-Pin is very fast, is good behind the wheel and his feedback on the car is really impressive. David, from his side is super reliable, you’re sure he’s going to bring the car back without losing a place or go for the win. The team is really fired up because this year we have been able to put together a driving crew worthy of the race and prepare the car properly.

This year we really have the right cards to play, plus we have gone to Michelin tyres, and I really think we made the right choice. If it rains this time we will have what it takes to benefit from that rather than the opposite.

We also met with Ho-Pin, see his viedo interveiw HERE
