JOTA Sport Lead the Way in Opening Practice Session of 2015

The first practice session of the 2015 European Le Mans Series finished with the two Nissan powered Gibson 015S chassis, with the JOTA Sport car of Harry Tincknell posting a 1m49.826 lap, one second ahead of the Greaves Motorsport machine of Jon Lancaster.

The session was interrupted when the no45 Ibanez Racing Oreca-Nissan of Jose Ibanez went off and a Full Course Yellow period was declared to recover the car safely.  The session went green again with four minutes of the 60-minute session remaining.

In LMGTE it was an AF Corse 1-2, with the fastest car being the no81 Ferrari of Michele Rugolo with a 2m02.428 lap, just 0.042 seconds of the no51 458 of Raffaele Giammaria.  The BMW Team Marc VDS BMW Z4 of Andy Priaulx was third quickest, 0.44 seconds behind the lead car. The BMW Z4, run by TDS Racing finished the session as the top GTC car, just one place behind the Marc VDS BMW, with Franck Perera posting a 2m03.082 lap, 0.7 seconds fastest than Marco Cioci in the no 63 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.

The no7 University of Bolton Nissan Ginetta was the quickest of the brand new LMP3 competitors, with Rob Garofall posting a 2m04.852 lap, 0.389 seconds ahead of Charlie Robertson in the no3 Team LNT Nissan Ginetta, with Sir Chris Hoy finishing third fastest with a 2m06.514 lap.
