ELMS - 27/03/2019 - Jeff CARTER
Lining up alongside Britain’s Rob Garofall and Canada’s John Farano, Job Van Uitert soon proved to be a natural behind the wheel of a Le Mans Prototype, the trio winning the first race of the season at Le Castellet and following up with another victory at Red Bull Ring in July.
A hard fought season saw another podium in the wet at Spa-Francorchamps and a 5th place at Portimão secured the LMP3 crown for the drivers and the team.
Now in 2019 Job Van Uitert will move to the 2018 ELMS LMP2 championship winning team G-Drive Racing to challenge the other 17 entries in the category, alongside 2018 champion Roman Rusinov and race winner Jean-Eric Vergne, for the overall ELMS title and also make his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
Job Van Uitert: “This is a dream come true, that much is clear. G-Drive has won the European Le Mans Series three times now as well as taking the FIA WEC crown once. On top of that they are the benchmark at Le Mans so this is, without doubt, the best place for me to continue my career, a place where I will race for victories.
“Le Mans is the biggest race in the world and besides our hunt for a fourth ELMS-title for the team, Le Mans is firmly in our cross-hairs. That I can make my debut in this race, with this team, in a such a competitive car is a dream come true.”
The 2019 European Le Mans Series will start at Le Castellet in the south of France, with pre season testing on the 9/10 April and Round 1, the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, on Sunday 14 April.
