ELMS - 08/04/2015
2014 Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2 class winner, JOTA Sport, will be looking for a strong home race in 2015 while teams new to LMP2 such as Eurasia Motorsport, AF Corse, Krohn Racing and Ibanez will clearly want to show what they are made of for their first race in the European series. Amongst the newcomers and also looking for a positive race will be the five LMP3 entries, the BMW Team Marc VDS Z4 in LMGTE as well as the BMW Z4 GT3 of TDS Racing and the sole Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Massive Motorsport in GTC.
Circuit presentation
Known for being a mecca for British motorsport, Silverstone Circuit (in the county of Northamptonshire) is a true British institution. Ninety minutes from the UK’s capital city of London, the 5.9km (3.66 mile) Silverstone track has everything to excite and entertain spectators. Built on the site of an old airfield, it has undergone regular upgrades and is host to the British F1 Grand Prix.
Nine European endurance races have taken place at Silverstone since 2004. In 2013 the first round of the newly re-launched ELMS took place under heavy rain, the race being shortened due to the extreme weather conditions, while in 2014 everything came together perfectly for a great race which was won by the French Thiriet by TDS Racing team.
