Graff Fastest on Day One of ELMS Monza Test

Under sunny skies, track action got underway with 8 hours of testing spread over two three hour sessions in the morning and afternoon and one two hour session which concluded after the sun had set.

The new LMP2 cars, with new chassis and more powerful engines, showed how fast they could go with the no22 G-Drive Racing Oreca07 (Ryo Hirakawa) setting a new best speed for the class at Monza of over 311kph.

Except for the Audi R10 TDI (320kph), Hirakawa’s velocity through the speed trap is faster than all of the LMP1 cars the last time the Le Mans Series raced in Monza 25-27 April 2008, the second best speed was the Lola Aston Martin (310kph).  The best speed by an LMP2 car in 2008 was 298kph set by the Team Essex Porsche RS Spyder.

  • No9 AT Racing fastest in LMP3. Mikkel Jensen sets 1m45.626 lap in evening session
  • No90 TF Sport Aston Martin fastest in LMGTE.   Salih Yoluc sets 1m48.720 in morning session.

Day two of the ELMS Official Test will get underway at 09h00 on Wednesday 29 March with two three hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
