F3 Euro Series – Nigel Melker opens his score at Le Castellet

In addition to the Le Mans Series, other championships have kicked off in the sunny Var region this weekend. Dutchman Nigel Melker, driving for the Mücke Motorsport team, won the first race of the weekend in the F3 Euro Series.
Melker, who was making his debut in the F3 Euro Series, dominated all the championship regulars. He took the chequered flag after 36-minutes racing from Felix Rosenqvist and Daniel Juncadella. “After a disappointing qualifying session, we were able to bounce back in the race and score a double,' said a delighted Melker afterwards.
“It's more than just a very special and very important victory for me as it's my first win in a single-seater,” added the driver who raced in the GP3 Series and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 in the last two seasons. “It's a red-letter day! We were more consistent than the others.”
