ELMS - 23/03/2016
Marco Cioci, no51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia
Everything is going in the right way after two full days of testing. We have tried a lot of stuff and everything is working. We know it will be a tough season with many cars and great crews, it will be a great battle as usual in ELMS.
Matt Bell, no3 United Autosports Ligier JS P3-Nissan
“It’s been very good for us so far, both cars have been running at the front the whole test and our car was P1 for a period this morning. We’ve been at the front end and Mark [Patterson] is comfortable with everything. I’ve worked with Mark before and we know each other very well. I’ve not worked with Wayne [Boyd] but very pleased to have him as a teammate and he has got on it very quickly. So everything has gelled together very nicely.”
Jonathan Adam, no99 Aston Martin Racing Aston Martin V8 Vantage
“It’s been a good test, just seat time for Andrew [Howard] and Alex [MacDowall]. We’ve not done much testing this year so this it is nice to get two days in. We’re getting used to the new Dunlop tyres, which has been really nice. Andrew has just done a race stint; he has been out of the car for four and a half months, so for him it is just getting back into the race seat. It’s nice to see an Aston Martin back in the ELMS, we loved Estoril and it convinced Andrew to come back and do the full championship.”
Enzo Potolicchio, no10 Graff Ligier JS P3-Nissan
I’ve been looking at some options to coming back into the ELMS and WEC family and this deal came about at the last minute with John Falb, who is leading the programme, and Sean Rayhall and I made it here. The LMP3 format seems to be very successful; the logic behind is really good and the budget makes a lot of sense. In the US now endurance racing is very expensive because there are so many races, so more and more people are looking at ELMS as an option. America is so big that you need to travel anyway so coming to Europe is small change and the 2016 schedule makes a lot of sense.
After taking in wins in LMP2 and LMGTE I would like to add some podiums in LMP3 but there are more than 20 cars here, so it will be hard but we will have a lot of fun on the track.
Enzo Guibbert, no9 Graff Ligier JS P3-Nissan
Everything is going well and we are very satisfied with these two days of testing. We’ve made a lot of improvement on the car and we will keep working on it but I’m really optimistic for the start of the season. The team works really well together and I’m looking forward to start racing.
Inès Taittinger, no29 Pegasus Racing Morgan Nissan
It’s the first time that I’m doing the ELMS, I’ve done a few years of VdeV but it’s really different: the atmosphere, the organisation and the car in itself. It’s really impressive and I’m really looking forward to race at Silverstone. I’m getting to know the car, to push it to its limits. I’m going to train hard, but it’s good to have done these two days of testing because the serious things are going to begin in Silverstone. I’m also excited to have a race in Spa, it’s going to be long until the end of the season, I’m looking forward to it, as well as Le Mans.
