With temperatures already above 29 degrees at the end of the 90-minute session the times were faster than yesterday’s FP1 with Nico Lapierre taking six tenths off his best time, setting a 1m53.546 lap, compared to 1m54.234 yesterday.
The top three LMP2 cars were from each of the three different manufacturers competing this weekend with the no27 SMP Racing Dallara P217 in second place with Matevos Isaakyan posting a 1m53.867. Ligier were third quickest with Filipe Albuquerque setting a 1m54.241 in the no32 United Autosports Ligier JSP217.
United Autosports were quickest of the seventeen LMP3 competitors with Wayne Boyd setting a 2m05.155 in the no3 Ligier JS P3-Nissan, just 0.047 ahead of the no19 M Racing – YMR Norma M30 of Yann Ehrlacher.
The no77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 was the fastest of the six LMGTE competitors with Matteo Cairoli setting a 2m05.753, three tenths ahead of Matt Griffin in the Red Bull Ring race winning no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari F488.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet is due to begin at 13h45 this afternoon.
