Ben Hanley set a 1m41.227 lap on the 5.7km Circuit Paul Ricard, 0.858s ahead of the no43 RLR MSport Oreca-Gibson and the no26 G-Drive Racing Aurus, with both cars lapping the track in an identical time of 1m42.085s set by Arjun Maini and Job Van Uitert.
The no10 Oregon Team Norma kept up it’s fast pace in the official test to finish FP1 at the head of the LMP3 field. Damiani Fioravanti set a 1m50.592 lap, 0.7 seconds ahead of David Droux in the Realteam Racing Norma and one second ahead of the no19 M Racing Norma of Yann Ehrlacher.
It was a Porsche 1-2-3 in the LMGTE class with the no77 Dempsey-Proton Racing 911 RSR of Matteo Cairoli finishing the session on a 1m54.473, 0.1s ahead of Thomas Preining in the no88 Proton Competition Porsche and 0.2s ahead Jorg Bergmeister in the no56 Team Project 1 911.
There was one Full Course Yellow to recover the no3 United Autosports Ligier, which lost a wheel. The session was interrupted by a red flag when the no51 Luzich Racing Ferrari dropped oil on the track, which had to be cleaned before the session resumed.
The second Free Practice session will take place tomorrow morning at 09h00 CET.
