Nicolas Minassian made it a French 1-2-3 at the top of the LMP2 category setting the third fastest time of the session of 1m54.789 in the no22 G-Drive Racing Oreca.
The no15 RLR M Sport Ligier-Nissan was the pace setter in the LMP3 category with Alex Kapadia posting a 2m03.054 lap, 0.103s ahead of Ross Kaiser in the no6 360 Racing Ligier JS P3. The no19 M.Racing –YMR Norma M30 of Yann Ehrlacher was the fastest of the four Normas on the grid for this weekend’s 4 Hours of Le Castellet, with the French driver setting a 2m03.233 just 0.179s behind Kapadia.
Ferrari led the way in the LMGTE category with the no51 Spirit of Race F488 of Andrea Bertolini taking the top spot with a 2m05.961, 0.130s ahead of Nicki Thiim in the championship leading no90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage. The second Aston Martin was third quickest with Ross Gunn setting a 2m06.936 to keep the no99 Beechdean AMR Vantage in contention.
The second Free Practice session will take on Saturday 26 August at 09h25 (CET) and qualifying getting underway at 13h45 tomorrow afternoon.
