The third and final session of day one of the ELMS Official Test at the Circuit Paul Ricard was held in the dark for two hours.
Twelve cars ventured out to complete some night testing with the no38 Jota Sport Gibson Nissan of the reigning 24 Heures du Mans LMP2 champions taking the top spot with a 1m48.967 lap, 0.123s ahead of the no37 SMP Racing Oreca Nissan and 1.4s in front of the no41 Greaves Motorsport Gibson-Nissan. In total six LMP2 cars completed some laps in the dark.
Five LMGTE cars set flying laps during the 2-hour session, with the no52 BMW Team Marc VDS BMW Z4 setting the fastest lap with a 2m00.261, 0.15s ahead of the no58 Ferrari and the no86 Gulf Racing UK Porsche 911 RSR.
The 12th and final car that took part in the night session was the no2 Team LNT Ginetta-Nissan, the LMP3 car setting a best time of 2m07.007.
The next test session will start at 09h00 tomorrow morning with the final 4-hour session taking place at 14h00.
