ELMS - 12/04/2018 - Sophie LIGER
How do you feel about coming back to the European Le Mans Series with United Autosports?
I am really looking forward to the 2018 European Le Mans Series season, this year more than 2017 as I will be in a strong position to fight for wins and the championship. Made possible because of being part of United Autosports, one of the most successful teams in ELMS in the last few years having come second in LMP2 last year and retaining LMP3 championship titles. They have helped bring me on over the winter to a point now where I feel confident that Filipe (Albuquerque) and I can be strong this season.
What do you think about the 2018 grid?
I think it is the strongest grid in LMP2 to date with many teams and drivers moving across from WEC. I only see this as a positive opportunity to show my strengths in comparison with a tougher grid that will help to extract the most in my performance.
How will you tackle this new season in a very competitive LMP2 grid?
By putting into practice everything I’ve learnt with United Autosports so far to do the best job we can.
What are your main goals for this new season?
My goal is the same as it is in any race or series; I go out to win no matter the circumstances, I feel as though this is a realistic expectation however I don’t think it will be easy.
