Damp Track Produces Exciting First Half of the 3 Hours of Hungaroring

ELMS - 14/09/2013

After a wet start the challenging track conditions had the teams scratching their heads over what the correct tyre choice should be for the racer.

At the half way point of the 3 Hours of Hungaroring the nr36 Signatech Alpine of Pierre Ragues has dominated the race and is currently holding nearly a one lap advantage over the nr38 JOTA Sport Zytek which has just been handed over to Simon Dolan by Oliver Turvey.

The LMPC leader is  the current points leaders the nr49 Team Endurance Challenge FLM Oreca with Gary Hirsch running well up the order before handing over to Paul Loup Chatin.  Problems for their two LMPC rivals have left them with a huge lead in the class.

The LMGTE leader was the nr67 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche of Jean-Karl Vernay but a 1 minute stop-go penalty dropped the French driver back behind the nr77 Proton Competition Porsche of Nick Tandy.

The GTC lead changed several times and at the half way point of the race it was the nr72 SMP Racing Ferrari of Luca Persiani that held the advantage over the nr79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 of Ollie Millroy.
