Cool Racing Out In Front After FP1The session was interrupted by a Full Course Yellow to remove the no15 RLR M Sport Ligier-Nissan from the gravel. Apart from that one incident the session ran uninterrupted until the chequered flag was waved.
The no45 Carlin Dallara of Ben Barnicoat was third quickest overall with 1m32.905 lap, with the no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier fourth 0.366s behind the Dallara.
The no39 Graff Oreca was the quickest of the three championship contenders, finishing the session 6th overall, way ahead of the no26 G-Drive Racing Aurus 01 in 13th and the no28 Idec Sport Oreca in 15th.
The no17 Ultimate Norma was the fastest of the 13 LMP3 contenders with Matthieu Lahaye posting a 1m40.101 lap, just 0.037s ahead of Lucas Légeret in the no19 M Racing Norma-Nissan.
Championship leader Mikkel Jensen finished the 90-minute practice session third in class with a 1m40.418 lap in the no11 Eurointernational Ligier. The Dane was three tenths behind the lead car but, more importantly, three places and three tenths ahead of championship rival Nigel Moore in the no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier Nissan.
The LMGTE class was headed by the no60 Kessel Racing Ferrari with Andrea Piccini setting a 1m42.677, 0.160s ahead of the no77 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche of Matteo Cairoli, with the no83 Kessel Racing Ferrari in third, Rahel Frey posting a 1m42.940 lap time.
The second Free Practice session will take place tomorrow morning at 11h35.
