Times Tumble in Dry Afternoon Session

The second 4-hour session of the 2018 European Le Mans Series Official Test saw the sun make an appearance and the competitors were able to set their best times on a dry track.

The no21 Dragonspeed Oreca of Nicolas Lapierre was the quickest car, the Frenchman setting a 1m41.769, over two seconds faster than the best time set in the first session and three tenths ahead of the second and third fastest cars in the afternoon test session, the no28 IDEC Sport Oreca and the no26 G-Drive Oreca.

The LMP3 category was headed by the DKR Norma, Alex Toril setting a 1m51.819 after the car was repaired by the team in session one following a trip off the track.  The no17 Ultimate Norma was second quickest with a 1m52.059 and the no3 United Autosports Ligier in third 0.13 behind the Ulitimate.

Porsche finished ahead of Ferrari in the afternoon session with the no88 Proton Competition 911 posting a 1m54.628, 0.242 ahead of the Ferrari F488 of reigning champions JMW Motorpsort.

A two hour evening session will get underway at 19h00 CET to conclude the first day of testing.
