ELMS - 19/07/2011
Young French driver, Olivier Lombard, has proved his talent in several categories. This year for his first participation, he won the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category with drivers Karim Ojjeh and Tom Kimber-Smith, running on a Zytek Z11SN - Nissan in the Greaves Motorsports team.
A feat that is even more extraordinary when we know that he was, at just 20 years old, the youngest French driver on the grid.
Tim Greaves, Team Manager of Motorsport Greaves, tells us:
"Olivier was very impressive at Spa because he had to get used to the car in a short time and was able to show that he was extremely fast. He is a young driver that we have been following for a while and we are delighted that he could race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Motorsport Greaves and participate in the end of the Le Mans Series season with the team. "
With LMP2 n° 41, Olivier Lombard, thanks to his good results, made his mark and proved that he is one of the top French prospects in endurance racing. With another victory in Italy, race after race, Olivier Lombard reconfirms his impressive tactical sense and regularity on the track.
Greaves Motorsport now leads the LMP2 championship with 35 points, 5 ahead of their nearest rival.
Le Mans Series season will be back in action on the Silverstone circuit in England on the10th and 11th of September 2011.
