Season review with Richard Bradley (Oreca 07 n°40 – Graff)

ELMS - 17/11/2017 - Sophie LIGER

Richard Bradley, driver of the n°40 Graff Oreca 07-Gibson alongside James Allen and Gustavo Yacaman, finished 3rd in the final classification with 86 points in the team’s first year in the LMP2 class. The 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 Champion ended the season on a high note with two wins at Spa-Francorchamps and in Portimão, the final race of 2017.

We met up Richard in Portimão for a review of his 2017 season in European Le Mans Series.

Can you talk about your 2017 season?

“It’s been good. It was frustrating at the beginning, with the new car he had some technical issues, but I think everyone else down the pitlane did. However eventually the supplier got rid of those issues and since then we’ve been really quick. We had some difficulties in Paul Ricard with technical issues but then we won at Spa for the first year in LMP2 for the team, so it was a really good result.”

Best moments of 2017?

  • Spa! When you win a race it’s always a great moment!
  • Silverstone was good as well. We had a bad qualifying session, so we had to start last, even behind the LMP3 and when I got out of the car we had a 40s lead. So I was quite happy with my stint!

ELMS in a few words:

“Fun and exciting”

Do you have any projects for 2018?

“There is lot of options in many different categories and championships around the world, but my priority would be to enter the European Le Mans Series again and I think it’s quite possible. We have already started some negotiations and I will do everything I can to come back. And considering the calendar I think it’s quite easy to fit the ELMS into a two program season; so it should be fine.”
