ELMS - 15/08/2016 - Press Release - Beechdean Motorsport
Beechdean AMR have run two liveries in ELMS. The car started with its classic dark blue livery at Silverstone and Imola. Beechdean AMR then switched up to a metallic blue livery, which was showcased at 24 hours of Le Mans. The new metallic blue livery was seen for the first time in ELMS at the Red Bull Ring in Austria and will be the livery going forward for the remainder of the season.
The team have always run the Union Jack flag on the roof of the #99. The only deviation from this was during 24 Hour of Le Mans. The flag was changed to the St Georges Cross following the Euro 2016 game, where England beat Wales in the group stages.
The next upcoming round of ELMS at Paul Ricard in France on the 27th and 28th of August will see the start of Beechdean AMR unique roof run – which will change prior to each race, for the remainder of the season. The new roof livery will incorporate the traditional Union Jack, Beechdean AMR’s national flag and the flag of the country in which the race is taking.
Team owner and driver Andrew Howard explains the thought process behind the idea stating “We are proud to compete in ELMS and have the opportunity to race at some of the best tracks Europe has to offer. We wanted to illustrate this in some way on the livery and the roof, which already has our flag , seemed like the right place to deliver this message.”
The team head to France at the end of August for the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series, where it will showcase the new livery format to local fans. This will mark the first of three events where the changing livery will be displayed.
