Interview of Pedro Lamy

How do you feel after this first part of the endurance season?

We won lots of races … of course, we lost the 24 Hours of Le Mans and we were upset about that but we won lots of races and we are very happy for the job we did. The car is fast, the team is really great and we still keep fighting for the end of the Le Mans Series Season.

How is your collaboration with your French team mate Stéphane Sarrazin?

We learn a lot from each other and the collaboration is very good. It's my second year with Stéphane as a team mate so we know each other quite well and I think it is a good point in the endurance racing as we share a car.

What are your feelings about the Peugeot team in Endurance racing?

The Peugeot team is a very good team. It's a very professional team with good results. The atmosphere is nice and we learn a lot from each other.

You know quite well the endurance racing, what do you like in this sport?

I like the long distance in competition. You must be safe and fast in the same time. You have to be very combative on the track; it's really intense during the race.The championship became very stronger with much more fights on the track. I like the spirit of the 1000 Km races, the conviviality.

What is your assessment in the middle of this season?

I feel very happy as Audi won the 24 hours of Le Mans. Of course, I would have been happier if I would have had access to the podium of The 24 Hours of Le Mans but it was the victory of a team. We finished at the 4th position and it was a really good result. We are now very excited to race the 1000 km of the Nürburgring, in my home country. It will be nice to be on the Nürburgring podium for all my supporters.

It's your 1st year in Le Mans Series, what is your feeling about the LMS?

I really enjoy the championship, the conviviality. We get close with the public and it's fabulous for a driver. 1000 km is a great distance and I really enjoy being part of the AUDI team in the LE Mans Series races.

The battle on track is very intense so how do you deal with the pressure?

The pressure is higher and higher in the championship because the level is really high and the last two races will be absolutely fabulous because of that. We had time to prepare the races and we are now waiting to be on the track.

How is your collaboration with your French team mate Alexandre Premat?

It's a very great collaboration. We both enjoy driving together and we are also racing in the DTM championship. We learn a lot from each other and it's the basis of collaboration.
